Across the Baltics is a carefully arranged tour to the three capitals of Baltic States: Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn. Each of them represents a face of each country: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

With the company of a dedicated guide and driver, you will enjoy crossing each country admiring beauty of nature, getting in touch with history and destinies. You will also enjoy traditional dishes of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

1 DAY: Arrival at Vilnius International airport; transfer to hotel; check-in;

2 DAY: Vilnius  – Trakai

Panoramic tour of the city entering the church of St. Peter and Paul – known as one of the 16 most beautiful churches in the world with more than 2000 stucco sculptures with different faces, who smile in the morning and in the afternoon look tired. The Cathedral of St. Stanislav and St. Vladislav – the center of Lithuanian speaking Catholics, the Gothic corner with the churches of St. Francis and Bernard, and St. Anne – the one that Napoleon wanted to take to Paris. The Gates of the Dawn- known by all the pilgrims from Lithuania, Poland, who usually travel to the gate and have mass in the street full of people.  After lunch transfer to Trakai historical national park (27 km from Vilnius). Following the tour you will visit Trakai Historical National park, famous for its Trakai Island Castle from which the enormous territory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was governed and which extended from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea. In the medieval capital there is local tribe (the Karaites), who lives in Trakai since 15 century.  Although today there are around 60 people of this ethnic group who still  live in Trakai. In the Trakai peninsula there are many religions such as Catholicism, Karaism, Orthodox Christians and Islam .

3 DAY: Vilnius – Hill of Crosses – Rundale – Riga

After breakfast we departure towards Riga. The trip takes all day visiting the Hill of Crosses in Lithuania and the Palace of Rundale in Latvia.

Hill of Crosses is a place of a high importance for religious people. The hill is planted with thousands of crosses and crucifixes of all sizes: acquiring its world-wide fame when being visited by John II.

After visiting the Hill and having lunch near

After visiting the Hill and having lunch near the Hill we continue towards Rundale palace in Latvia. This palace astonishes by the luxury and histories of persons whose roads of lives had crossed in this land.

Later towards Riga – capital of Latvia and overnight in Riga.

 

4 DAY: Riga

Panoramic tour in Riga visiting historic center with its numerous churches as St. Peter’s Church, The Dome cathedral well know in Europe for having the biggest original organ from XIX century,  House of the Blackheads, The Town Hall, the Monument of Freedom and famous district of Art Nouveau of Riga.

5 DAY:  Riga- Gauja National Park – Parnu – Tallinn

The first stop after leaving Riga is in Gauja river valley, known as the most popular tourist and leisure destination. Gauja National park is full of historical and nature monuments, different ways and possibilities to uncover them. Most popular stops are “the garden of Gods” named according to the local tribe who lived here from medieval ages. Gutman’s cave with magical stream and Siguldas city so popular between tourists proffering active leisure.

Other stop will be in other country! In Parnu – the seaside resort of Estonia. It is the summer capital, where Estonians come to spend their holidays. The white beaches of fine sand, the sea with strong waves that the wind makes, and the areas of pine forest,  creates romantic and quite wild landscape. The city in history was very important to the Danes, Swedes, Russians and Estonians. So far many people come here for medicinal mud. Following the path through the woods we approach Tallinn by bus. Dinner at the hotel.

6 DAY: Tallinn

Panoramic tour of the medieval city  with panoramic views from Toompea Hill, entering to Aleksander Nevsky Cathedral, taking photo of the Houses of Parliament, Dome Church, going down to the lower part of old town of Tallinn by one of epic streets – “Short leg” and “Long leg”. Walking along St. Catherine passage where you can visit workshops of St. Catherine’s Guild where

Estonian artisans produce and sell handmade goods.

Later our tour will turn to other part of Tallinn – to baroque style Kadriorg Palace which Peter the Great built for his wife Catherine, the Presidential Palace, KUMU New Art Museum, The Song Festival Grounds, St Bridget’s Convent Ruins.

7 DAY: End of the trip. Transfer to the airport.
